Indian history is saga of cultural diversity but that is threaded intensly by bonds of love, unity and patriotism. Indian history is very rich and vivid. It does not need any introduction to the world. In a way or other the entire world is reflection of our Indian civilization.
Ancient India : The history of ancient India began with Indus Valley Civilization. Rig Veda is the most primitive literature which throws light on history of ancient India. 5th century saw a remarkable unity of ancient India under the kingdom of Ashoka. India was facing gigantic turmoil in 6th century B.C. India was shaken by some heterodox believes as orthodox Brahmins were posed with serious threats by Buddhism and Jainism. Magadha was one of the 16 great janapadas of India that gigantically influenced entire India. Mauryas were the rider of this great civilization for a pretty long time, Ashoka The Great being the most influential and captivating. The boundaries of his empire included areas from Kashmir and Peshawar in north and northwest to Mysore in the south and Orissa in the east. But, his fame was majorly showcased by celebration of his renunciation of war. Post the magnificent period of Mauryas, India became politically fragile and shacky, leading to be attacked and ruined by foreigners. But, Gupta dynasty brought back the stability in India. It also witnessed an unmatched growth and progression series in art, culture, literature and sciences. This period was also inclusive of origin of Hindu Temple Architecture.
World famous Epics like Ramayana and Mahabharata were also nurtured in the laps of ancient India. Ramayana was a tale of Lord Rama’s quest for his wife Sita and final defeat of the demon Ravana in a war wherein Lord Hanuman assisted Lord Rama by his army of monkeys. Mahabharata is inclusive of Kurukshetra war and description of destiny of Kauravas and Pandavas.
