The word yoga originates from the  sanskrit word “yuj” meaning to join or unite. It is symbolic of union of individual soul and cosmic consciousness. The origin of yoga dates back to 26000 years ago, i.e the Golden period of Satyug. However, some views predict that it is only 5000 years old, and it was Aryans, invaders from north – west who invaded Indus valley civilization and had instrumental role in the origin of yoga. Yoga is a science of life and vital essence of Indian culture and civilization.

Upnishads identify four types of yoga, namely mantra yoga, laya yoga, raja yoga and hath yoga. However, The Bhagwat Geeta highlights three major types of yogas, Astanga yoga, Jnana Yoga, and Bhakti Yoga.

A healthy mind, body and soul gives birth to a healthy and great personalities which in turn are capable of solving all the troubles of mankind. Today, even WEST is gazing at India with a hope and aspiration of  peace and tranquility. What we can offer them is gems of our best Indian culture, Yoga is one of them.

Meditation: Despite of significant and wide spread awareness of meditation, its meaning is not fully understood by all of us. Meditation is not concentration, meditation is not exercise, neither it is loss of control nor is it mental effort to achive one single point. These may be the steps towards meditation. Meditation may be defined as a state of thoughtless awareness. There is no action involved with meditation. It is a state of profound, deep serenity and it happens when mind and soul is calm and composed, yet fully alert. It is inception of your inner transformation leading to exponential levels of awareness.

Now, even science supports and believes the principles and benefits of meditation. You may be surprised to know , but its true.
